What types of orders are available on Paymium?
1. Trading platform
Paymium is the only French platform with a EUR-BTC market. This means that the BTC price on Paymium results directly from the interaction between buyers and sellers on the order book.
Two types of orders are available on this pair:
Market order
A market order allows you to buy or sell BTC quickly at the best available price on the order book at the time of execution.
This type of order prioritises speed of execution. However, the final price may vary depending on the available liquidity and changes in the order book at the time the order is executed.

Limit order
A limit order allows you to define in advance the maximum purchase price or the minimum selling price.
This type of order gives you greater control over the execution price. However, depending on the price set and market conditions, the order may not be executed immediately, or may only be partially executed.

All information regarding the platform rules is available here.
2. Exchange service
For the other pairs available on Paymium, excluding BTC-EUR, transactions are carried out through the exchange service, also known as brokerage.
This means that there is no dedicated order book. Conversions are made directly with Paymium, using its own crypto-asset reserves.
Before the transaction is confirmed, the proposed price is displayed to the customer. This price may include a margin applied by Paymium, notably to cover costs related to liquidity, execution and service management.
Best execution principles and the associated policy do not apply to this type of service.
3. OTC service
For transactions above €50,000, or the equivalent amount, Paymium offers personalised support.
This service allows significant transactions to be processed outside the order book, in order to limit the potential impact on the market and seek execution conditions suited to the size of the transaction.
In this context, best execution principles are applied.
