Paymium is the only French platform offering a EUR-BTC order book. This means that the BTC price on Paymium is determined directly by the interaction between buyers and sellers through the order book.
Two types of orders are available on this trading pair :
A market order allows users to buy or sell BTC quickly at the best available price in the order book at the time the order is executed.
This type of order prioritizes execution speed. However, the final execution price may vary depending on the available liquidity and changes in the order book at the time of execution.

A limit order allows users to set in advance a maximum purchase price or a minimum selling price.
This type of order provides greater control over the execution price. However, depending on the specified price and market conditions, the order may not be executed immediately or may only be partially executed.

All information regarding the platform's operating rules is available here.
For all other trading pairs available on Paymium (excluding BTC-EUR), transactions are carried out through Paymium’s exchange (brokerage) service. This means that there is no dedicated order book for these pairs. Conversions are executed directly with Paymium using its own crypto-asset reserves.
Before the transaction is confirmed, the proposed price is displayed to the client. This price may include a margin applied by Paymium to cover, among other things, liquidity, execution, and service management costs.
The principles of best execution and the related policy does not apply to this type of service.
For transactions exceeding €50,000 (or the equivalent amount in another currency), Paymium offers a personalized OTC service.
This service enables the execution of large transactions outside the order book, helping to limit potential market impact and seek execution conditions appropriate to the size of the transaction.
In this context, the principles of best execution are applied.
